We measure your home’s actual heating and cooling load based on square footage, insulation R-values, window area and orientation, infiltration rate, and occupancy. We do not size by rule of thumb.

Installation
Most residential installations complete in four to eight hours. We follow manufacturer torque specifications, vacuum the line set to 500 microns, and verify charge by superheat or subcooling.

How long does a typical heating and cooling system installation take?
Most residential installations complete in four to eight hours, depending on system type and any ductwork modifications required. A like-for-like furnace or AC replacement is typically a same-day job. We will give you an honest timeline before we start.
Do you install equipment besides American Standard?
Yes. We specialize in American Standard products but we install other major brands when that is the right call for your home and budget. We are not a single-brand dealer.
What is the difference between SEER and SEER2?
SEER2 is the current Department of Energy efficiency rating for cooling equipment, replacing the older SEER scale as of January 2023. A 16 SEER2 unit performs roughly equivalent to a 17 SEER unit on the old scale.
Are heat pumps a good fit for Southern Illinois homes?
Modern cold-climate heat pumps work well here. An inverter-driven heat pump is a strong primary system for most homes, and a hybrid setup with a gas furnace is often the best economic answer.
